How the Enterprise Adapter for PeopleSoft Works

Enterprise Adapter is an option that can be quickly implemented; no changes are required within the PeopleSoft environment and there are no extra routines to install. The Enterprise Adapter is installed on the same machine as the Tidal master server and interfaces with the PeopleSoft Process Scheduler directly. Users can be up and scheduling PeopleSoft processes in a matter of minutes. A simple connection dialog box enables the adapter to recognize the PeopleSoft jobs and statuses. Once connected, the PeopleSoft jobs are available to the Enterprise Scheduler’s feature-rich functionality.

With the adapter, Enterprise Scheduler can have a PeopleSoft SQR Report or Cobol SQL program depend on an external application, a results file or another PeopleSoft process from a different instance. In addition, these external applications can run on another server operating system, such as Windows®, UNIX®, Linux®, OVMS®, z/OS® or OS/400®.

Enterprise Scheduler and PeopleSoft work as one integrated solution. Non-PeopleSoft users can manage PeopleSoft processes and run the PeopleSoft Process Scheduler using the same Enterprise Scheduler console interface.
